The story: Players will step into the role of Michael Arthate, a blooming writer flush with cash from the sales of his debut hit novel, as he moves to an imposing Victorian mansion he has just bought, set on the outskirts of a small rural town in north England. As Michael seeks inspiration to complete his long awaited follow-up story, he uncovers terrible secrets concealed within this mansion – the mystery surrounding the eccentric Blackwood family, its previous inhabitants. Few know exactly what occurred among these walls… what drove James T. Blackwood mad enough to viciously murder his wife and then supposedly commit suicide. Compelled to investigate this forgotten case, Michael decides he’s up to the task to find out what really happened. But as the pieces of the puzzle are fit together, the understanding that his life might be in actual danger becomes a harsh reality.

Soon Michael comes to realize his arrival may have disturbed some sinister forces that have been resting, and waiting, inside this place for many years…


The game: Scratches is a point and click adventure using a panoramic first person view. Explore a chilling and atmospheric scenario as you move around Blackwood Manor and visit varied locations, besides the central Victorian mansion, such as a rundown greenhouse, a grim chapel, a decaying crypt and more. Solve challenging puzzles requiring not your reflexes but your intuition and deductive skills. Gather clues and relate them, until you arrive at the terrifying final conclusion of the story – you will be the one who solves the mystery!

The cast: We’re happy to announce the talented people that will be voicing the characters in Scratches in yet undisclosed roles – John Bell, a professional voice actor who has worked in several adventure games, Jonathan Boakes, creator of the successful Dark Fall series, Matt Clark, developer of the upcoming horror adventure Barrow Hill, Sue Anderson, ex-vocalist of legendary UK band Bark Psychosis, and Dominic Brewer, a professional dramatic actor.
