At this place I want to introduce adventure games just released in Germany. The list on the right shows games which just hit the shelves anywhere in the world.

On this pages you find short descriptions (in German) of graphic adventure games in alphabetical form. Each with box- and screenshots, links to developers, publishers, reviews, walkthroughs, home- and fanpages in English and German.

Included are 1st person puzzle orientated games like Myst, 3rd person object- and/or dialogue orientated games like Monkey Island or Sherlock Holmes, game compilations, advertising games, free- and shareware games, adventures which contain action, roleplaying or arcade elements with the adventure/puzzle part definitely predominating, as well as some textadventures to document the history of the genre.

The Adventure-Archiv listings only consist of commercial adventure games that came or come on physical data media for the following platforms: PC, MAC, main consoles (Playstation, XBOX, WII), as well as some few exclusive Amiga adventures, that can be played on PC using emulator software. Not included are adventure games for mini-consoles, mobile phones or web browsers. Also not covered are adventure games, which can be played online only or are exclusively on sale as virtual digital download with licenses that are separated from the retail version. Exceptions are freeware adventure games.

Not subject of this site are the so-called 'Hidden Object Games', even if the producers do call them 'Adventure Games'. We don't classify those casual games as adventures.

Furthermore Adventure-Archiv does not deal with action-adventures, like Tomb Raider, where action is the main-thing or role playing games (RPG's) like Arcatera. We only break this rule, to keep records of special historical milestones in the adventure game history, for example the split-off of the action-adventure genre with the Alone-in-the-Dark series or the end of an adventure series with King's Quest 8.

The descriptions are based on games I have access to - a lot of different versions may exist with variations in look and outfit.

I would be glad about hints, tips, questions, adds and opinions !

Please send emails to webmaster@adventure-archiv.com or simply use my guestbook. If you find a broken link please don't hesitate to contact me.

If you are seeking similar games you can find help at Categories.

Please use the translator link at the top of the page to translate German text or whole webpages into English or vice versa. The results sometimes may sound funny but it's worth a try.
